Scoil Chaoimhín Naofa / Hollywood National School nestles in the hills of Wicklow just off the N81 at Hollywood Cross. Hollywood derives its name from Killendeyvin or from the Irish Cillín Chaoimhín meaning Kevin's Little Church. St Kevin studied at a monastery in Kilnamanagh near Tallaght and after some years went to live as a hermit in Glendalough. Some claim  that he set up a religious settlement at Hollywood or Holy Wood. Hollywood was later to become a staging point for pilgrims on their way to Glendalough.
