Environmental Education Workshop

Pupils from 3rd to 6th class attended a Bird Watching Workshop recently. Patrick Hunt gave the workshop which consisted of a presentation and a bird walk around the grounds of the school.
Pupils were fascinated to hear how to train a robin. They learned the names of the body parts of a bird and how to tell what a bird eats from looking at its beak. As the pupils walked around the grounds, Patrick explained how to tell the difference between a rook and a raven.

They heard the warning sound of a wren, spotted our regular visitor the pied wagtail and some of the tit family. Pupils were inspired by their walk and Patrick’s presentation to draw some of our regular garden visitors. It was a very enjoyable, informative workshop.
